This 18km trail climbs steadily from approximately 300m to the edge of Lake Hawea Station at 1260m, then onto Grandview Mountain at 1398m.
It offers a pleasant day hike for those seeking something not quite as demanding as the Breast Hill track, yet with similar views at the top.
As a duel-purpose track, this is suitable for both hikers and mountain bikers. That said, this is marked as a grade 4 mountain bike track as there are a number of streams to cross and a few challenging climbs.
See more information about this track at Department of Conservation.
