The Vertigo team have been riding and racing bikes for years and it’s from this love of MTBing that Vertigo was born. When you ride with Vertigo, you experience the thrills and learn new skills in a beautiful environment with professional riders with vast experience and expert local knowledge.
The Queenstown Mountain Bike School has been built on a wealth of knowledge and experience in the MTB industry, stemming from years of commercial guiding through to World Cup MTB racing. Designed to help all levels of rider, Vertigo offers Skills Clinics in the QBP, in a friendly and relaxed enviroment. Vertigo also offers one-on-one classes.
Vertigo’s two principle coaches are Jamie Tilbury and Paul Angus. Jamie is a Whistler Mountain Bike Park IDP Level 1 and 2 qualified coach and has been one of the lead mountain bike guides for Vertigo Bikes for many years. Jamie’s laid-back manner and technical mindset are instrumental in his ability to pass on skills to people of all abilities in a friendly and relaxed environment. Paul (Pang) is an ex-professional world cup DH racer, and has been racing bikes and guiding for over 10 years (winning events in DH, XC and enduro), so has a lot of wisdom to pass on. His fabled effortless riding style is a secret recipe he passes on to the lucky few!
The QMTB School has a range of classes to suit all levels of rider. The idea is to offer a natural progression between the classes. All classes are held in the Queenstown Bike Park using the variety of trails up there as it allows more time with you riding, as you can just jump back on the gondola and hit the trail again, thus giving you the best value for money and most learning time.
