The first Queenstown Medical Centre began in 1970. Over the years the centre has moved premises numerous times to cater for the rapid growth in the local community.
Queenstown’s central medical centre at 9 Isle Street was opened in 2001 and now incorporates Radiology and Ultrasound, Phlebotomy services, Psychologist, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy and a dedicated Accident and Medical clinic open daily 8am-8pm. Additional community services include Diabetes Education, COPD, Sexual Health Clinics, Dietician, Antenatal Classes, Travel medicine and Vaccination clinics.
Across all three locations the “QMC” has 13 principal general practitioners, 22 Nursing staff and 18 support staff, with the addition of numerous part-time employees in the busy winter months.
