Crown Range Lookout

The Crown Range is the stretch of mountains that separate Queenstown and Wanaka. In the early 2000s the route went from being a dirt track to a sealed road, making the journey between Queenstown and Wanaka much faster – typically under and hour.

On the Queenstown side of the Crown Range there a number of lookouts. The virtual tour above shows the highest lookout in mid-winter, followed by the second lookout (shot at night to reveal Queenstown’s starry goodness) a little way down the road.
